Program History & Overview
CMA Ambassadors Club was developed by Olivia Simmons on October, 2013. With the help of former advisor, Sonya Terry, the student club was a new addition to the Cobra Family. In the Fall of 2014, the CMA Ambassador club transitioned to a student ambassador program housed under CMA Magnet Program and Student Services. The program has four student leaders that serve as facilitators of 18 internal and external student ambassadors. These ambassadors provide services to magnet fair, student and stakeholder tours, PTSA and open houses, freshman orientation, official CMA marketing functions and other student services opportunities.
The Student Ambassador Program is managed by a faculty steering committee including CMA Magnet Coordinator, Brian Elliott as chairperson; Career Development Coordinator, Evelyn DeLoatch; and Student Services Coordinator, Tarica Rawlinson.
The mission of the Student Ambassador Program is to provide City of Medicine Academy with student leaders who participate in an official capacity at special events throughout the year. This program, which brings together students from various academic grade levels and cultural backgrounds, serves to enrich and enhance leadership and communication skills, personal growth, and professional development for its membership while creating long lasting ties with their alma mater.
